This web site features a number of projects and portraits made during the period from 1979 to the present. Upcoming projects and current exhibitions are profiled and earlier work is archived along with texts and supporting materials. The site highlights the most recent work, a new book and exhibition project exploring the events of 9/11 and DNA, and presents recent portraits made for the B-W Bank in Stuttgart. The portrait of Friedrich von Schiller, made from DNA extracted from Schillers hair, and the portrait of Dr. Nuesslein-Volhard, the Nobel Prize winning geneticist, are of particular interest. In-depth information and images regarding my work in genetics and portraiture can be found in The Invisible Body, Portrait of John Cage, and From the Blood of Poets. Earlier projects such as The Red Couch, Kaufhauswelt, (Department Store World), and Kunst und Medien, Materialien zur Documenta 6 (Art and Media, a Documenta 6 anti-catalog) can be viewed in the archives or portfolio section. Geneticimage.com is an interactive commercial web site that encourages visitors to make their own artworks based upon their own DNA sequences or chromosomes. The company offers state of the art DNA sequencing services and a selection of imaging options which can be selected from simple and flexible menus. Thank you for visiting this site, which was created by Sanjin Jukic and Ars Genetica by Kevin Clarke. From the Blood of Poets was designed by Rob Murphy (artnetweb) and The Invisible Body (old version) was designed by The Thing, using Murphys design scheme. |
